Charles Low
General Manager
Lark Creek Steak Restaurant
Charles Low, General Manager at LarkCreekSteak, draws on his more than 30 years in the restaurant industry to create an environment that is comfortable and an experience that is unforgettable for his guests. Low makes it a priority every day to uphold LarkCreekSteak restaurant's reputation for presenting timeless steakhouse classics blended seamlessly with fresh iterations of old favorites.
"I was drawn to the Lark Creek Restaurant Group more than 20 years ago when I applied and was hired as the Dining Room Manager at One Market, the Group’s Michelin-starred restaurant in San Francisco,” says Low. “I have always been a huge fan of Michael Dellar and Bradley Ogden, the Co-Founders of Lark Creek Restaurant Group, and their take on the evolution of American, farm-fresh cuisine – it’s an honor to be a part of the team again."
Starting out as a busboy at the age of 15 at The Mansion restaurant in Low’s home town of Decatur, GA, he was inspired by the excitement and energy of seeing guests satisfied and happy from enjoying a great meal. Since then, Low has held various jobs in the restaurant industry, including owning and managing Susie Kate’s, a Southern-style tablecloth restaurant in the North Beach district of San Francisco for eight years. Low also co-owned and managed Fork Restaurant, which later changed names to Dream Farm Restaurant, for 10 years in San Anselmo, CA. Fork Restaurant received a "Top 100" designation and awarded 3-stars from Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle.
“A meal with friends or family prepared and served with love and care is one of life’s true joys,” says Low. “In order to keep this belief alive, promoting teamwork among the staff is key, and I am thrilled to be working alongside Chef Ismael Macias.”
Low thrives on adventure; he’s hitchhiked from Atlanta to California three times and hiked the John Muir trail (230 miles) in 14 days. He lives in San Anselmo with his wife Cadence and their dog Coleslaw.
